We are currently in week 10 of our "Prime Time of Life" multimodal exercise and health education programme with True Fitness and Laois Sports Partnership.
The health workshop this week was about arthritis with specific mention of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and the role of physical activity in the treatment and management of these conditions.
Exercise is crucial for good joint health. The tips from this workshop are:
▪ Weight loss may be appropriate
▪ Regular exercise is essential
▪ Exercise at a time of day when pain is least severe
▪ Wear appropriate footwear (stability and comfort)
