EduFIT Timetable + Class Descriptions

BodyWell: These 60-minute classes are designed specifically for adults of all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions. We use multimodal exercises to improve your cardiovascular fitness, strength, balance and flexibility all within the one class. Training these specific components of fitness is extremely important for functional healthy ageing! We give three versions of each exercise to make sure they are suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of fitness.

High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T): These 40-minute classes are designed for adults who are training regularly. This type of training challenges the whole body and involves repeated bursts of high intensity effort, followed by varied recovery times. H.I.I.T improves cardiovascular fitness, body composition and cardiometabolic health! We do not recommend this class for people who are beginners to exercise, but as you get fitter this is a great class to aim for.

Pilates: These 40-minute classes are suitable for adults of all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions and are designed to challenge you in a safe way. These classes incorporate low impact, repetitive exercises to improve muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, mobility, posture, and balance, which are essential for activities of daily living! Pilates also helps to relieve stress and tension. Please note, you may prefer to use a mat to perform Pilates.

Boxercise: These 40-minute classes are designed for adults for all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions. These classes include high intensity, repetitive boxing techniques focusing on cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength and endurance, as well as agility, balance and coordination. This is a fantastic full body workout that we leave you feeling fit and strong!

Flex and Move: These 30-minute classes are for adults of all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions and are focused specifically on improving flexibility and mobility. Flexibility is the range of movement available at a joint, whereas mobility is the range that a joint can work through during dynamic activities such as walking or running. Flexibility and mobility are so important in injury prevention for people who train regularly and for positive ageing and living functionally fit and independent lives.

Core and Tone: These 40-minute classes are suitable for adults of all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions. This class focuses on strengthening and toning the body, with a particular focus on working the core muscles. Core strength training is very important for injury prevention, rehabilitation of back injury, functional mobility and balance.

Strength and Tone: These 40-minute classes are designed for adults of all ages, fitness abilities and clinical conditions. You will work your legs, arms and abs in this class. Free weights can be used if you have them, but you can also improvise with household items such as water bottles or tinned cans. It’s the perfect class to build strength and tone your body!

All exercise instructors will provide different modifications and progressions so you can tailor every class to suit you.

Important advice for our members:

  • If you are a beginner to exercise, we advise that you leave a full rest day between classes for the first 1-2 weeks of training to allow your body to recover and adapt. The exception to this is the “Flex and Move” class. This class can enhance recovery from exercise, so you can take part in this on your “rest day”.
  • If you are accustomed to exercise, we advise you to take part in only one class per day. The exception to this is the “Flex and Move” class. This class can enhance recovery from exercise, so you are welcome to take part in this even after completing a different class. In fact, we would highly recommend it at least once per week!

Please note, a chair may be required for some exercises performed in the EduFit classes, e.g. sit to stand. Please make sure your chair is stable before use.

Monthly Health Masterclass: On the first Tuesday of every month, there will be a live 60-minute health masterclass on different topics relating to exercise, nutrition and health. The first masterclass will be held on Tuesday 3rd May and will be hosted by Ruth Kavanagh, a registered nutritionist (ANutr) and active health researcher working in True Fitness, on the topic of “Exercise Nutrition”. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for the preview!
