John: I have over twenty five years’ experience in the fitness industry and for seventeen years I managed fitness clubs in the UK and Ireland. In our spare time we train for ultra-endurance events and we use these events to raise money for local charities. Our charity events to date include:
- 2009 – kayaked the length of the Shannon in a double sea kayak (200km in 3 days) to raise €1,000 for a local charity.
- 2014 – kayaked around Ireland in a double sea kayak (14-17 hours per day for 40 days to cover 1,000 miles) to raise €10,000 for Laois Hospice.
- 2015 – cycled around Ireland (15 hours per day for 7 days to cover 2,100km) to raise €3,300 for ‘Supporting Shirley’
- 2016 – Trained a group of our True Transformation participants to climb Carrauntoohil to raise €3,000 for Laois Hospice.
